Congress Rajya Sabha member Chiranjeevi has said his fans want him to become the Chief Minister.

Talking to the media on the occasion of his birthday here on Wednesday, he said his birthday had no special significance. He said he would on this day express his resolve once again to serve the people better. When asked about his future plans, Chiranjeevi said people would decide them.

When media asked him about statements of some his followers that he would become the Chief Minister of the state, Chiranjeevi has said his fans want him to become the CM and they were expressing such views because of their love for him.

Answering other questions, Chiranjeevi has said he would perform whatever duty the Congress high command assigns him in the 2014 elections. He has exuded confidence that Congress would surely win in 2014 if there was an united effort. He has also stressed that there was no need for any one to worry about Congress party’s future.

When the media asked him about the problems faced by the state government, he said problems won’t vanish in a day and there should concerted efforts by governments to resolve them. Even if government solves some problems, others would sprout, he added.

When asked about Dharmana Prasada Rao’s resignation, Chiranjeevi has said it was for the Chief Minister to decide. “Let us wait and see what he does”, Chiranjeevi said and added that the stand taken by the Chief Minister was correct. Stating that there were only allegations on Dharmana and that he had resigned no sooner than they were made, Chiranjeevi has said that it was improper to demand action against him, even before his guilt was proved.

The former Mega Star has said that though he was worried about getting distanced from his fans, he had satisfaction that he was becoming closer to the people.

Chiranjeevi has said that Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy would not be changed. Stating that Congress was like a massive banyan tree, he said it had roots so deep that its stability need not be doubted.
